Founder’s Corner

Newsletter-December-2009

Almost 5 decades ago I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines. The people, the culture, the landscape, and the poverty made an indelible impression on mylife. Although there is a growing middle class and an abundance of natural resources, poverty, malnutrition, disease, and child mortality are still very real among the extremely poor, exacerbated by the increasing number of devastating typhoons, earthquakes, and tsunamis that hit the Philippines annually. My wife Paterna and I established The HELP Foundation 10 years ago with the vision of reaching out to the poor by providing programs/projects/training that would improve their quality of life. The HELP Foundation has grown steadily in the past 10 years because of the generosity of our donors and we have initiated many new programs as outlined in this brochure. The administrative cost of running the foundation in the States is $0.00 because my wife and I bear these costs. In order for us to achieve our vision, we need your continued prayers and financial support.
