Food Clinic

It was a successful half day event full of food tasting and food critique last May 23, 2017 held at BigHoop Training Center. The purpose of this activity is to correctly convey the taste, texture, smell, and presentation of the different dishes brought by members of our micro finance project. The mothers brought sweet potato candies, carrot cookies, tomato marmalade, pork tocino and fresh juices such as pineapple, guyabano, cucumber and lemon grass. We invited two expert food critics, Marilou Cunningham a retired teacher, and Sylvia Aguhob, Department Head of the Food Technology of Xavier University. The judges meticulously scrutinized each dish and gave their honest evaluation which the participants accepted it as constructive criticism. The fresh fruit juices and tomato marmalade were among the top picks, and some sweet delicacies need improvement on taste and texture. We are hopeful that this activity will encourage the mothers to continue making quality and tasty food products. One of our goals is to introduce new products which the mothers can display at the newly opened Negosyo (Business) Center supported by the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Agriculture in Talakag Bukidnon.
